The Aroflot airline was founded and operated since 1923, which makes the airline
one of the oldest active airlines in the world. Aeroflot is headquartered in the
Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow, where the main hub is located at
Sheremetyevo International Airport in Russia.
From the beginning (1990) the Aeroflot airline has been a state owned enterprise
of the USSR. It was during this time that the airline expanded its fleet to over five
thousand domestically made aircraft and also expanded its services to international
operations to over three thousand destinations throughout the globe.
The airline also served freight operations and also give its assistance to military
services serving the state. With the ending of the cold war following the
dissolution of the Soviet Union, USSR later came to be known as Russia.
The airline company too purchased western aircraft and more recent design of
domestic Aircraft with central focus to expand its international market and also its
domestic market services.
On 25th February 1932, The responsibilities and duties of the airline came under
the control of the Chief Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet and the name ‘Aeroflot’
was formally and officially adopted.
For the first time In 1976, Aeroflot airline company carried its 100 millionth
passenger. Its flights were mainly focus around the Soviet Union, however, the
airline also had an international network covering of five continents including:
North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
The network of routes includes countries such as the United States, Canada
UnitedKingdom, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and the People's Republic of China.
In the early 1990s, the Soviet Union underwent a big political disruptions, which
ultimately resulted in the dissolution of the USSR .
Aeroflot had been the only establishment providing air services throughout the
Soviet Union, but with its breakup Aeroflot branches of these (above mentioned)
countries began their own services, and the airline itself came under control of
Russia, and was renamed to Aeroflot – Russian International Airlines (ARIA ).
In 1992 Aeroflot was divided into a number airlines branches varied from region to
region, yet the international routes were operated by ARIA. And these smaller
regional airlines which emerged from the old Aeroflot were sometimes referred to
as Babyflots.
Aeroflot became the tenth airline to join the part of SkyTeam In April 2006, and
was considered the first air carrier in the former Soviet Union to do so. The
company too announced its plan and procedure to increase operational service of
cargo. It registered the Aeroflot Cargo trademark in 2006. That same year
Aeroflot carried around 7,290,000 passengers and about 145,300 tons of mail and
cargo to 89 destinations in 47 countries. The improvements could be seen in its
earnings and number of passengers carried which in turn led to the further growth of the airline.
According to the report of 2018 September, the Aeroflot serves 146 destinations in
52 countries.

The Aeroflot consists of the following aircraft of narrow-body, and wide-body
aircraft from seven families:

7. Sukhoi Superjet 100
And which there are 247 passenger aircraft registered in the Aeroflot fleet as of
March 2020.
Aeroflot Check-in policy
Check-in can be done through both online and offline between 24 hours to 25mins
before the departure of the flights.
Passengers are recommended to arrive at the check-in desk 3 hours prior to the
flight departure time and should report at the boarding gate 15mins before the
flight for domestic passengers and 30mins for the international passengers.
Online check-in can only be done from the airports where online system for
check-in is available.Online check-in is not available for joint flights under
codeshare agreement.
Carry on allowance
1. Economy class and comfort class: one free baggage up to 10 kg
2. Business class: one baggage up to 15 kg
3. Maximum dimension of carry-on baggage for every service classes are 55 x
40 x 25. Carryon baggage exceeding the given requirement will be check-in as
baggage. Baggage allowance All carry on bag and checkin baggage should
be presented at the time of check-in for security purpose.
Business class (flex and classic fare family): 2 free baggage up to 32 kg per
baggage. Business (base fare family): 1 baggage up to 32 kg.
4. Comfort (flex and classic fare family): 2 baggage up to 23 kg per piece.
5. Comfort(base fare family): 1 baggage with the maximum weight of 23kg.
6. Economy (flex fare family): 2 baggage with the maximum weight of 23kg
per piece.
7. Economy (classic, saver and promo fare family): 1 piece baggage with
maximum weight of 23kg
8. Economy (lite and promo lite fare family): no free baggage allowance.
9. For every service classes the maximum dimension of the carry-on baggage
should not exceed the size of 158 cm. Children from 2-12 years of age have
the same check-in baggage allowance as the adult passengers.
Passenger carrying pet must informed the airline 36 hours prior to the estimated
flight departure time as arrangement should be made due to the limited seat. Small
pets like cat, dog and bird (8kg - max weight) can travel in the cabin along with the passengers.
Pet exceeding 8kg will be checkedin as baggageanimals and carrier being transported
in hold must not exceed the weight of 110lbs (50 kg).
Carrier must be secure and well ventilated, the floor should be waterproof and
covered with non toxic observant material.
The carrier should be ragid and heat-resistant and large enough for the pet to move freely.
Passenger carrying pets should provide fit to travel certificate of the pet, rabies vaccination
certificate and other requirements of the airlines.
For all children from 5-12 years of age travelling without parents or any
accompanied elders,unaccompanied minor policy is mandatory. The airline
will be provided full service for the child travelling alone throughout the
journey.
For such situation parents or legal guardian must fill up certain form and
prior consent must be given to the airline before the departure time.
Check-in must be done only in airport in the check-in desk.carriage of the
unaccompanied minor must be paid in accordance to the rules and rate of
the airline.
Disabled passengers are required to state the nature of their disability and
needs according to their requirement. In addition to their free carry on
baggage, medical requirements such as oxygen tank, wheelchair, walkers or
sticks are allowed free of cost. The manual wheelchair must be registered
during the check-in time or must be hand over before boarding the flight at the gate.
Visuallyimpared passengers carry dogs for guideline should be informed 72 hours
prior to the estimated flight departure.
These passengers are required to check-in at the airport counter only.
